Criminal Law - Mens Rea

R v Tatton (SCC, 2015)

I don't normally include criminal cases unless they reflect some general principles of law but in this case the Supreme Court of Canada undertook a highly useful review of the law of mens rea, specific and general intent and how these categorizations effect available defences (here self-induced intoxication to an arson charge) [see especially paras 20-45].
