Civil Litigation - COVID 2020 Time Limit Suspension

The province imposed a six-month suspension for limitations starting 16 March 2020 and ending 14 September 2020. For this time it was as though time didn't run for these purposes.

Also imposed, but with a discretionary exemption by the judge or adjudicator, was a similar six-month suspension for any time limits [ie. "(a)ny provision of any statute, regulation, rule, by-law or order of the Government of Ontario establishing any period of time within which any step must be taken in any proceeding in Ontario, including any intended proceeding, ..."].
